More Parking Spaces

We are very excited about the progress of the Legacy building project. The new temporary parking lot and exit road have been completed which will enable us to abandon some of the existing parking lot and the paved exit road that are going to be under the new building. This new temporary parking lot has enabled us to add 50 spaces to our existing lot even after we abandon the section of the old parking lot that will be within the new building pad. This month we are installing temporary lighting in the new parking areas and the new exit road and we have ordered a six-passenger golf cart to help shuttle people from the new parking areas. We are also negotiating with the site work contractor to begin his next phase of work which will include digging out a new pond near the entrance to Little Creek Road that is necessary for the overall site drainage. This next phase will also include the installation of some of the parking lot drainage, movement of some of the existing utilities, and some work on the building pad for our new sanctuary. As you drive around our church property in the coming weeks, envision the new building and parking lots that will begin to rise out of the ground and see the countless lives that will be impacted by our enlarged and more functional campus. God has blessed us tremendously with a great ministry in our area and we look forward to seeing Him move powerfully in our new facilities. Thank you for continuing to pray for this incredible project that God has birthed in our hearts.

Wow! God really showed up in a supernatural way for the Andersons. You know, every day we hear stories of lives changes, relationships restored, people healed, and God’s provision for people in need. Whether it’s through small groups, adult or youth ministries, or reaching out to others through local and worldwide mission, God is doing amazing things through the people of Church of the King. I can’t wait to see what He has in store for us next!

Favor and Progress

These are exciting times. God is really giving us amazing favor as we move forward in building our new home. If you’ve driven by the property recently I know you were amazed at the clearing of the land and the wonderful progress on the site preparation. It’s giving us a much better picture of the land and where our new home is going to be built.

Daily, we continue to make preparations as we partner with the architectural firm and work out the myriad details of our new building. We are looking at everything from the seats, to the children’s areas, to the landscaping, to the parking lot, and on and on. We are looking at everything!

Each day is full of anticipation as we continue on this Legacy journey. Every time we look at the plans we are just amazed at what God has already done and all He is going to do through this new facility both in our lives and in the lives of those that are yet to come.

Please continue to pray with us daily as we move forward with the development of our new home.

Supernatural

My wife and I have been fasting, praying and seeking God this week, asking Him what part we are to play in the Legacy campaign. One of the things we really felt God was telling us was to believe for supernatural financial gifts to be brought to us so we could us this money to give to the Legacy campaign. About an hour and half ago, my employer walked into my office and said: “Have you been giving more than usual to your church or something because you are about to receive a very big bonus”. I said: “What did you just say?” She then repeated: “You are about to be given a very large amount of money in the form of a bonus”. At this point, I had no words…I just stared at her. I finally was able to say: “Your not joking are you because if you are, this is not funny” Of course, she said she was not joking and that I should be receiving this bonus in the next week or two.

We CAN make a difference

The most awesome benefit for my family after joining Church of the King was being a part of the Imagine a Place Campaign. At the time, our children’s classrooms were at capacity. By partnering with other families, the church was able to expand the children’s facilities which allowed many more families in the community to attend services. Having a place for children to come together during the week and learn the love of Jesus changes a family, a community and, ultimately, the world. My daughter has used these new children’s facilities and has seen many of her new friends come to know Jesus during our children’s services. To know that my family was a part of the IAP campaign has shown us that we CAN make a difference in the lives of others by financially partnering with a church family.
